Isabel’s final major project is a recollection of her summer visits to Villa San Michele, a museum which was once the home of famous doctor, Axel Munthe. This project is a celebration of his story, villa and the artefacts which he collected, characterised through conversational patterns.
This project explores the sense of escapism and nostalgia through the perspective of her inner child’s curiosity of the world, finding magic in the house and its gardens. It aims to connect people to themselves and the world around them, through finding the sprinkle of magic in life that was once lost.
Isabel believes passionately in creating sustainable designs, to increase the design’s longevity and reduce the designer’s impact on the environment; this can be seen in her choice of process and materials, using digital printing techniques to reduce water, ink and fabric waste.
