Hello, my name is Isabel Kate Porch and I am a surface pattern designer, print maker and storyteller. Creating designs for interior, stationary and fashion contexts using a variety of traditional and modern printing techniques.

Personal practise

My personal practise is led by my inner child's wonder, joy, gratitude and curiosity of the world, like a magpie seeking magical treasures that live in our every day lives. I am greatly inspired by my heritage, its stories and the natural surrounding of South Wales, UK. I call myself a storyteller as i feel that being a designer, i am constantly observing, collecting, reflecting and responding to the memories of our past and future histories, so honouring its life, journey and story through concept into reality is important when creating designs. I mostly use woodblock printing, lino printing, screen printing, UV, photoshop, illustrator, and digital fabric printing in my work, to combine traditional and modern printing techniques, that form a tactile and visually appealing experience. I am passionate about making peoples dreams a reality. always keep sustainability at the forefront of my mind, recycling and up-cycling wherever possible.

I love to share ideas, skills and processes with others through collaborations, conversations and workshops. I feel there is something so powerful about a team of creatives coming up with new ideas and solutions together.
